Virtual Production House Announces New Studio Location in British Columbia

Virtual Production House Vancouver (“VPHouse Vancouver”) aims to service the rapidly growing screen industry in Vancouver and solve for significant production pain points through virtual technology.

VANCOUVER, March 6, 2023, Today, Virtual Production House (“VPHouse”) announced a
new location situated in Vancouver. At VPHouse Vancouver, innovation, storytelling, and
technology intersect bridging the gap between traditional production and in-camera visual FX.

Leveraging a stateoftheart production ecosystem and a diverse array of experts from across visual effects, production, and computer sciences, users are enabled to film anywhere in the world within a controlled studio environment.

VPHouse Vancouver is the first virtual production studio in the region designed to service commercials, episodic series, movies of the week (MOWs), lowerbudget feature films, social shorts and more. The technology solves significant production problems, in scenarios where location shoots are becoming increasingly difficult due to costs, logistics, or being overutilized.

The new studio is led by Daniel Hsia, a Vancouverbased filmmaker whose credits include episodic series, commercials, and independent feature films. As a member of the Directors Guild of America and Writers Guild of America, Hsia brings nearly two decades of motion picture production experience to VPHouse Vancouver.

“British Columbia is an international hub for screen production. There is so much creativity here and a deep pool of talent who care deeply for their craft,” said Daniel Hsia, President of Virtual Production House Vancouver. “We want to be here to employ and cultivate local talent and contribute to this growing industry. We are excited to be open for business in Vancouver and for the opportunity to help filmmakers bring their vision to the screen.”

The Vancouver studio is VPHouse’s second. The flagship, launched in 2021 in Toronto and has worked with reputable clients and producers across the province. With this expansion, VPHouse establishes its presence in Canada’s two most prominent locations for screen production.

“The use of virtual production technologies and techniques allows for a practical approach to accessing dangerous, impossible, expensive or lost locations from around the world,” said Amir Endalah, Founder and CEO of Virtual Production House. “This extension to British Columbia brings us one step closer to making virtual production more accessible to all filmmakers and creators.”
